Modern Ballet
About
Based on universal ballet technique, Modern Ballet consists of flowing and controlled movements generally danced to music with a slow tempo. It is different to Classical Ballet in that it does not involve any pointe work and is a much more free and contemporary style. It is best suited to those who already have a dance background (an especially good extension for those who have a jazz background).

Attire
Private Exam Attire

| Clothing: | Shiny black leotard, black hotpants or black wrap skirt, beige stockings, pink ballet shoes or black jazz shoes |
| Hair: | Neat/slick bun (all hair back), black headband (optional) |
| Make-up: | Wearing make-up for private exams is optional, however, it does help your overall grooming (which is part of your mark). Eyeliner, mascara, lip stick/gloss and some eye shadow is sufficient, obviously doesn't need to be as heavy/dark as "Graduation make-up" |

Class Attire
Please use the private exam attire displayed above as a guide as to what to wear to class, but it is fine to wear different coloured clothing to class (not just black). All footwear is the same as for private exam attire.
You may choose to wear leggings and a tight fitted top to class instead of private exam attire.
